horses snort and stop,
watch the red-tailed hawk fly up
clutching a long snake
Dying,
cupped in his large hands
the broken-necked yellow bird
fragile, tiny, still
Two Roads,
We'd say cross the bridge,
but the horses are looking
up towards the lake.
Illusion,
as we drive past it,
the bison changes itself
into two bushes.
